Packing list suggestions
The weather report of Melbourne.
- No laptops. Laptops are discouraged during this trip. We want our students to get more engaged in the program. If we really need to do some research on certain topics, we have access to computers in the schools in Melbourne. Students can use Internet in the hostels that we are staying.
- Phones. Students will have an hour phone using time before bed. They can use their mobiles to contact parents and their friends. We want to reduce the distractions of mobiles during our activities. We will provide our contacts (phone number) in Australia, if you have any emergency, you can always reach them through our phones.
- Camera. Students are encouraged to take photos by their cameras to record or film their experience in Melbourne. Last year, we let our students use their mobile phones to take phones during the program. And it turns out to be a big distraction. If you can bring a Go-Pro or underwater camera, then you are able to capture what goes on under water as well.
- Travel documents. It is suggested to make both hard and soft copies of your travel documents.
- Money. No more than 300AUD is recommended. All the spend is covered, 300AUD (around 2000HKD) is enough for students to spend.
